Porterhouse Clothing & Supply was started by Ethan Clevenger, an alumni of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The real Porterhouse, an English bulldog, was crowned as "Beautiful Bulldog" at Drake's annual pageant in 2009 (click for photos, you won't regret it). In 2010, he was named their first live mascot, serving faithfully as university ambassador at recruitment events, athletic events, and more until his death in January 2014.
After adopting Porterhouse, his owners, Erin and Kevin Bell, began working with the Illinois English Bulldog Rescue, helping foster and socialize dogs rescued from mills and other awful circumstances. You can learn more about the IEBR here, and 5% of sales of this hat will be donated there.
Drake continues to recruit rescues from Erin and Kevin. Porterhouse was proceeded by Griff, who retired to make way for George, known royally as Griff II. The royal Instagram account is worth a follow.
