Chinese New Year Gold Ox Super Guy

2021 - a year most welcome - is the year of the ox in the Chinese zodiac. With that comes Naked & Famous's annual Chinese new year entry - the Gold Metal Ox.

Gold Ox is a 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim. Every year, one of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals is associated with one of the five elements: wood, fire, earth, water, and metal (gold). Because there are 12 Zodiac animals and 5 elements, each pairing is unique for 60 years.

February 12th, 2021 is the beginning of a Gold Ox year, so the selvedge ID is red and metallic gold. The denim itself is made from rope-dyed slub yarns that create a textured grain in the finished fabric. With time, the indigo will chip away to produce high-contrast vertical fades. Cut, sewn, built in Canada with contrast stitching, red pocket bags, a red and gold exposed selvedge coin pocket, a natural veg tan gold foil emboss leather patch, and silver metallic buttons and rivets.

The Super Guy is Naked & Famous's skinny fit, with a medium rise, a slim top block, and a taper from knee to hem.
