When traveling to New York to meet our brands twice a year and see what they have cooking, we try to find time to meet new folks. Looking at the lineup for one of the bigger tradeshows, shop owner Ethan knew there was one bold green booth new to the show we couldn't miss—P.F. Flyers. Fast forward to today and we are now proudly carrying this piece of legendary Americana footwear.
P.F. Flyers launched in the 1930s and has since cemented itself in American footwear history, helping the likes of Celtics legend Bob Cousy, cartoon adventurer Jonny Quest, and one Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez run faster and jump higher.

The Sandlot at the McDonald Theatre
If you're local to Eugene and don't know who Benny Rodriguez is, now's your chance (or your kids' chance) to re-establish this core memory of countless childhoods. This Saturday, May 16th, our neighbors at the McDonald Theatre are hosting a showing of the 1993 classic The Sandlot. If you haven't seen it, new kid on the block Scottie Smalls joins a group of rag-tag kids playing baseball on the neighborhood sandlot in the summer of 1962, and the kids soon find themselves squaring off with a legend in his own right, The Beast.
Joining you at the McDonald will be three of the original cast members—Thomas Guiry (Smalls), Marty York (Yeah-yeah), and Chauncey Leopardi (Squints).
We couldn't let this serendipitous confluence of events fly by without doing something fun to take advantage, so we've lined up a giveaway for our local fans. Swing by the shop to enter our raffle for a chance to win a pair of FREE P.F. Flyers 1993 Center-High's. You'll get whatever size you need, but they'll come in a box signed by Smalls, Yeah-yeah, and Squints. It's not quite a Babe Ruth baseball, but how many things are?
No purchase is necessary, but you must physically come by the shop between now and this Saturday, May 16th, to enter. One entry per person. The winner will be announced and contacted on Saturday the 16th before the McDonald Theatre event.
