Navigating the Holidays at Porterhouse
Alright y'all, the holiday 2023 countdown is on. Here's your guide to getting the most out of Porterhouse for your holiday.
Shipping Deadlines
Perhaps the single-most important detail to ensure you don't ruin Christmas. If you want your order to its destination by December 25th, there are two things to consider.
First, our handling time. For orders that come in before 6pm, we strive to ship the next business day. If you order after 6pm, it may be two business days.
So for example:
- If you order on a Friday at 5pm, we should ship that order Monday.
- If you order Sunday at 4pm, we should ship it Monday.
- If you order Tuesday at 8pm, we should ship Thursday.
You should assume your carrier of choice is basically not operating on the weekend.
That's our handling time. Once we hand your order to the carrier, we cannot be responsible for how fast it gets to you. Your tracking number is all we have, and you should have your tracking number as well. That means you and our team have the exact same information. We're here to tell you that this time of year, shit happens. So get your order in earlier than later. A credit from the carrier for a delayed shipment won't stop Bobby's tears when his Crissman doesn't show up for Christmas.
That said, here are the current carrier cut-off dates. We encourage you to review this information directly with those carriers if you're getting down to the wire. Not all of the options below are necessarily available at our checkout, but you are able to pick the specific carrier and service you want to use. DHL is for international shipments only.

So you want to add our handling time to those options. If you order from us on December 20th, it's highly unlikely we get that into the hands of a USPS carrier that day for delivery by the 25th via Priority Mail Express. Get that order in on the 18th, or even better, the 17th.
Gift Wrapping
Here in the shop, we offer gift wrapping! That means:
- One of two sizes of garment box in kraft paper brown
- Your purchase nestled in holiday tissue paper inside that box
- Your choice of two designs of wrapping paper or good ol' fashioned kraft paper
- And we'll tie a jute twine bow on it when we're done.
We think these are pretty handsome and have examples on the back counter.
If you want gift wrapping, it's complimentary, but we don't have, like, 10 people working at a time. On Saturdays, we can usually turn gift wrapping around in two hours. On a weekday, we'll give you a call the next day.
Holiday Returns
For the most part, our usual return policy applies and we strongly encourage you to review it. However, we're extending our return period. For holiday purchases, we'll accept returns through January 15th. Contact us with any questions about that.
