While this particular fabric is not a true sashiko fabric, the dobby weave gives the subtle appearance of sashiko's deep textural qualities. It is a very rich and beautiful fabric up close.

While Gitman Bros. wasn't on the books until 1978, the Gitmans had been sewing shirts and PJs on contract since 1932.
Gitman Vintage spun off in 2008, revisiting old Gitman linebooks and archives to make old new again. The results are inherently classic in style.
