Wilkes Western 14.50 ounce Kaihara

I was looking for a pair of high(er) rise jeans with room at the hem to wear of engineer boots. Omar, at Porterhouse, suggested I give these a try. He was very high on the Kaihara denim for good reason. The fit is exactly what I was looking for. The rise is what I would describe as medium high. The room in the top block and thigh is very comfortable without looking baggy or too loose. Ample room to squat, bend and be active without restriction and the rise means I'm not feeling the need to pull up on my jeans. Room at the hem is spot on for my engineers without looking like a boot cut. The weight of the denim suggests medium weight and they meet that mark. Stitching is neat, the buttons, rivets and pocket bags exactly what is expected of top quality jeans. YKK zipper feels like a #8 and just right. I tried the tag size 31 initially, but went with the tag 30 and they are just right for my measured 31" waist. Length is ~ 34" and gives me a 1.5 double cuff. I've worn them almost daily since purchasing a month ago and two washes after using them for some extended days of yard work, weed wacking and repairing fence. They still look new. I haven't noticed any appreciable shrink/stretch with cold water machine wash. Thanks Freenote, Porterhouse and Omar. Great jeans and great service!
